Im only starting this blog to keep track of all the diy skincare methods I'm planning to try out in the near future. This is a 23yo girl embarking on the journey to skincare routine. I know it is a little late to start skincare, should have started like 5yrs ago, but its better late than never yeah?
First of all, this blog is going to be mainly on the remedies i find online and how i like it. Personally, i dont like the idea of spending so much money on cosmetics and blah. Yes, im a cheapo. Why spend so much on heavily commercialized chemicals when there are more natural alternatives? Tbh ive no idea where this is going, but im excited to try out whatever remedies i can find. Even if they doesnt work, it should not go terribly wrong either, since im only looking at natural ingredients that im only willing to go as far as the grocery stores to look for them.
Next, im going to try out this diy cleanser and toner idea i found on pinterest. RICE WATER. Yes. Its also bcos thats the only ingredient readily available at home at 11pm, when think wonderful idea struck me. Nahh. I was just pondering on what my gfs advised me on daily skincare routine: cleanser, toner, moisturiser, BB cream. Oh, did i mention that im a super duper lazy person who doesnt like to remove makeup? So i shall leave out BB cream for the time being. Being a lazy person, that includes the effort to put on makeup as well. But at the old age of 23, yes 23, i should start to at least cleanse my face on a daily basis.
Rice water facial cleanser and toner:
Wash rice once to remove dirt, then soak in preferrable distilled water for about 15mins. TADA. cleanser and toner is ready.
Im storing some rice water in a sterile container because i dont want to spend 15mins everytime i want to cleanse my face. It really feels kinda refreshing after gently rinsing my face with the rice water and dab dry with a towel after that. With the same rice water, i dabbed a few drops on my finger and proceed to pat gently all over my face, this time leaving it on to air dry. of course, feel free to dab it all over the body if you want. If its good enuf for the face, why not the body? Will do this for 2days before i comment on the effects.
Disclaimer: this is from someone who doesnt cleanse face on a regular basis.
